Learning Objectives:

After completing this workshop in its entirety, you will be able to:

  • Discuss how hormonal rhythms influence mood, nervous-system states, stress cycles, sleep patterns, hunger/fullness cues, energy, and cognitive functioning across the lifespan.
  • Compare AFAB and AMAB hormonal cycles and evaluate their differential impacts on mood stability, behavioral patterns, and physical symptoms.
  • Assess how hormonal fluctuations may mimic, mask, or intensify DSM-5-TR clinical presentations—including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma responses, and irritability.
  • Apply cycle-aware or rhythm-aware clinical strategies—including tracking tools, somatic regulation practices, and body-led interventions—to case examples involving sleep, appetite, cognition, emotional variability, and stress physiology.

Workshop Description:

Did you know that many symptoms labeled as anxiety, depression, ADHD, irritability, or “low motivation” may actually be influenced by hormonal patterns—patterns that often go unrecognized in traditional mental health settings? Hormones are far more than reproductive chemicals; they are rhythmic communication systems that shape mood, energy, cognition, appetite, sleep, sensory processing, and stress responses. Yet most clinicians receive little training on how these rhythms influence mental health or how AFAB and AMAB bodies differ in their cycles, vulnerabilities, and clinical presentations.

In this 4-hour training, clinician and author Krista Day-Gloe, LCSW, blends endocrinology, neuroscience, and nervous-system regulation to demonstrate how hormonal rhythms intersect with physiological states and DSM-5-TR symptoms. Through research-informed teaching, clinical examples, and case-based application, participants will learn how to identify predictable “vulnerability windows,” recognize hormone-related symptom patterns, and apply cycle-aware or rhythm-aware strategies in practice. This training equips clinicians with practical body-led tools—including tracking methods and somatic interventions—to enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce client shame, and improve treatment effectiveness.

Presented by: Krista Day-Gloe, LCSW

Krista Day-Gloe, LCSW, is a licensed clinician, author, and the founder of Healing Roots Wellness Center. Her work specializes in the intersection of hormonal rhythms, chronic health conditions, eating disorders, trauma, and nervous system regulation. She has 20+ years of experience treating complex mental health concerns, including eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and chronic health conditions that intersect with hormonal and nervous-system functioning. Krista has advanced training in somatic therapies, EMDR, SSP, and integrative mental health approaches, and she regularly teaches clinicians how to apply endocrine-informed and neurobiological frameworks to their practice.

With more than two decades of clinical experience, Krista teaches a deeply integrative approach that bridges endocrinology, neuroscience, and psychology to help clients (and the clinicians who support them) understand how the body can shape mood, behavior, and emotional resilience. She is the author of Mood & Moon: A Body-Led Guide for Cycling Bodies and the creator of Body-Led Mental Health at Substack, where she translates complex scientific concepts into accessible, compassionate, and practical tools for everyday life. Drawing from somatic therapy approaches, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, brain-body retraining programs, and lived clinical experience, Krista offers engaging, evidence-informed workshops that leave participants feeling more confident, competent, and grounded in body-based mental health care.
