Workshop Description:

Inherent in all helping professions is the risk of burnout and vicarious trauma. Yet many clinicians feel unprepared to address these common challenges. Polyvagal Theory offers a guide for mindfully engaging the autonomic nervous system to assess levels of risk and well-being and create autonomically informed self-care practices that will support and sustain personal well-being and professional practice. The resilience plan that emerges from an autonomic state of regulation and a neuroception of safety is one that nourishes your nervous system and creates a sustainable story of self-care.
The organizing principles of neuroception, hierarchy, and co-regulation provide a roadmap to explore ways to use autonomic responses to monitor well-being and make daily self-care choices. In this experiential workshop, you’ll learn to tune in and engage the power of the autonomic nervous system to create pathways to well-being.
