WORKSHOP 1: Adult ADHD: Helping Clients Thrive
Educational Objectives:
- Explain ADHD as a diagnosis, how it manifests in adulthood, as well as the biological and neurological underpinnings of ADHD and Executive Functioning disorders, such as Variable Attention Stimulus Trait (VAST).
- Diagnose ADHD, VAST, Executive Functioning disorders and differentiate between these and other psychological presentations to aid in differential diagnosis.
- Discuss how to provide psychoeducation to clients regarding Adult ADHD treatments, both psychopharmacological and behavioral.
- Design an owner’s manual for our clients’ own, amazing ADHD brains using functional analysis, medication, and pulling from a broad knowledge of effective interventions for the range of Executive Functioning concerns.
- Describe how to be a neurodivergent-affirming therapist to assist clients in embracing their identities as neurodivergent superstars with creative interventions, behavioral experiments, workarounds and hacks.

WORKSHOP 2: Neurodiverse Women and Girls: Competent Care for ADHD & Autism
Educational Objectives:
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Explain ADHD and Autism as diagnoses and how they manifest differently in women and girls with attention to the roles of culture, gender-role socialization, and minority stress perspectives
- Explain the biological and neurological underpinnings of ADHD and Autism in girls and women and ways in which structural differences and hormones modulate neurodiverse female brains
- Assess ADHD, Autism, as well as AuDHD and differentiate between these and other psychological diagnoses to prevent misdiagnosis and inappropriate or harmful treatment in girls and women
- Demonstrate providing psychoeducation and care to clients regarding accommodations, treatment, and interventions across environmental, psychopharmacological, and behavioral domains
- Prepare neurodivergent-affirming therapists to assist clients in embracing their identities as neurodiverse superstars with creative interventions, identifying and embracing interests, and pacing treatment and progress to maintain a healthy and balanced nervous system
